We continue to monitor the track of Hurricane Dorian in consultation with the Chatham Emergency Management Agency and information from the National Weather Service. The current expected track of the storm is projected to bring dangerous weather conditions to our area. While we don’t know at this time how our communities will be impacted, we are anticipating heavy rain, wind and flooding. As a result, we have been taking the necessary precautions to move our patients with medical needs where they can properly be cared for. We thank those of you that have volunteered to assist us with this endeavor and those of you that will continue to support our patients through this time of need.
Effective Monday, September 2nd, at noon, all GA and SC offices will be closed due to the mandatory evacuation put in place. All offices will reopen as soon as the mandatory evacuation is lifted and we are able to safely do so. Please be aware that I-16 contraflow will start Tuesday.
Please take the necessary precautions to keep you, your families and your homes safe and keep the lines of communication open with your leaders. Please make sure that you text, call or email your leader to notify them of your plans to relocate. It may be necessary for virtual visits with our patients. Please also make plans to safely return as quickly as possible to be available to assist our patients when they are most vulnerable and need us most.
We will continue to monitor the weather and communicate via email any changes to operations. This is not our first time being faced with this circumstance and we are hopeful that we will get through this one as we have those in the past.
