As of, Thursday, September 5th at 1pm, GA offices have reopened and at 3pm, the SC Mandatory evacuation was lifted. Therefore, Effective tomorrow, Friday, September 6th all offices, GA and SC, will be open and operations will resume as normal.
I would like to take this time to thank those of you that have gone above and beyond to care for our patients, communities and each other during the threat of Hurricane Dorian.
Many of you have asked how to account for the evacuation days. I am asking for your patience as we take time to evaluate this further. Once the leadership team has an opportunity to gather the necessary information and we evaluate the needs of our employees, the costs to the company, and how other companies in our market have addressed this, we will be better positioned to make an informed decision on how we are best able to proceed. In the meantime, we will ask you to note the time as paid time off (PTO).
We understand the impact that those in our communities have faced due to the mandatory evacuations put in place and the closure of our offices. At the same time, we are thankful to have the storm pass us by with minimal impact compared to what we know natural disasters such as this can cause. We are grateful that our patients, employees, families, communities and belongings are safe and we can all sleep a little better tonight knowing the threat is over.
