Volunteer Program
Research has long documented that people live longer when they help others feel better about their own lives. Mother Teresa reminded us, “There is joy in transcending self to serve others.” THA Group’s non-profit hospice service, Island Hospice, is looking for volunteers in all of the communities we serve. Whether a volunteer chooses to work directly with our patients and their families or to volunteer in countless other ways, they can make a tremendous impact on the lives of others in their community. We recruit and train volunteers to carry out specific functions based on their interest, preference and unique combination of talent and skill. Our volunteers are able to offer client and family support, hospice office support, community outreach, fundraising, bereavement work and a myriad of other possibilities. We also appreciate volunteers who are interested in sharing their own skills/talents such as cooking/baking, music, crafts, landscaping, sewing, etc. Anything we can provide to our clients and their families to bring a smile and make them more comfortable is of great value. We have even had volunteers who made cookie trays at the holidays to be distributed to clients. All of these things count and make our clients and their families feel cared for and special. If you are interested in volunteering, please complete and return our volunteer application. A member of our hospice team will contact you to discuss your interests and the available volunteer opportunities. We offer hospice services in both South Carolina and Georgia with offices in many locations. Island Hospice Volunteer Application and Supplemental Material: |
